Exeter stay local Live Reykjavík.

Who we are

We're not a quiet hotel

This is where the locals get their coffee, the travelers stop being tourists, and nobody's in a hurry to leave. Right on the Old Harbour and two minutes from everything.

Experiences

Reasons to stay in tonight. Late-night arrivals welcome. The city's still going. So are we.

Monday and Friday Jazz

Musicians drop in, the room fills up,
strangers become regulars.

Greenhouse

Plants, quiet corners, and coffee that's better than it needs to be.

The Sauna

Heat, quiet, no agenda.

Benedikt meeting room

Natural light, a long table, and enough quiet to actually think.

Trumpet and saxophone players performing beside the bar’s tall windows as guests watch from red‑topped tables

Sip & taste

You don't leave the building to have the best meal of your trip. You take the elevator.

Le Kock

The burger people argue about, the band that plays till it's late.

DEIG

Donuts, coffee and bagels that locals line up for before you're even awake.

TAIL

Located inside Le Kock, serving cocktails, craft beer, and natural wines.

Tattooed hand holding a toasted bagel filled with melted cheese, egg and strips of red pepper

Amazing location (easy for tour/transit as a bus stop was essentially across the street and an easy walk to many attractions, restaurants, etc. - good restaurant/bakery downstairs - friendly helpful staff - room was good size for a solo traveler and very clean.

Wonderful staff and amenities! Loved the sauna and front desk lounge area. The Exeter's embedded restaurants are great for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The hotel is centrally located, and all the sites from the rainbow Street. I’m walking distance. The staff is very helpful with questions or concerns. Lovely people to have available for any questions. When I travel to the continent, I will always have a layover in Reykjavík each way.

Located in the old harbour area, easy to walk to most locations this is an excellent hotel, friendly staff, great rooms and good buffet breakfast. Have stayed here 3 times and wouldn't go anywhere else

While our rooms weren’t ready since we arrived early in the morning, they had free lockers that we could store everything in until later. This was a great system and we really enjoyed the hotel and the included breakfast.

We stayed before and after a hiking trip and it was very nice. Hotel and rooms are very clean and the outdoor sunroom made a great place for after dinner gatherings. The staff was helpful and friendly.

Two nights in a Harbour Double Room (pictured), plus a third in an Economy Room. Loved the early check-in (70EUR), though the surprise 10EUR bag storage fee stung after I'd asked in advance. Perfect harbour location, 15 min from downtown, with a DIEG bagel next door as the cherry on top. I'll absolutely return.

Feel the vibe

You're not near the city. You're in it.

Step out the door into 101 Reykjavík, the harbour, the shops on Laugavegur, Harpa lit up at night, the hotdog stand everyone tells you about.

The smallest big city in the world, and you're standing in the middle of it.

RVK CITY. Belong to it.

You picked the right corner.

From the front door: the harbour to your left, the bars to your right, the whole city in between.
